We will outline the classification, diagnosis, and treatment protocols for opportunistic infections, with a specific focus on cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis and fungal chorioretinitis in children. Beyond acute infection control, we will discuss the critical management of long-term sequelae, including recurrences, tractional retinal detachment (TRD), and cataract formation. This session highlights the necessity of a systematic, multidisciplinary approach to preserve vision in this high-risk pediatric population.
