Dr.Hyun Jin Shin
Hyun-jin Shin is an associate professor at Konkuk University, specializing in surgical and medical neuro-ophthalmology. He completed his oculoplasty fellowship training under Professors Yoon-Duck Kim and Kyung-In Woo at Samsung Medical Center, as well as a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship under Professor Andrew G. Lee at Houston Methodist Hospital in the United States. Additionally, he received training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus from Professor Jeong-min Hwang at Seoul National University. He has served in leadership roles, including as the secretary-general of both the Korean Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the Korean Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Shin has earned over ten major academic awards at both domestic and international congresses, including the 'Gubonsul Basic Research Award' from the Korea Ophthalmological Society (KOS), the 'Best Oral Presentation Award' from the Asian Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (ASNOS) and the World Congress of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WCPOS), and the 'Achievement Award' from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Since 2016, he has conducted research on facial anatomy for clinical applications with funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea. Currently, he is the principal investigator of clinical research on electronic medicine for visual snow syndrome and the application of 3D printing in orbital fractures. His ongoing work includes developing precise tension measurement methods for extraocular muscles and integrating them into strabismus surgery.
