Dr.Chiun-Ho Hou
Dr. ChiunHo Hou is currently an attending physician and assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at National Taiwan University Hospital, specializing in cataract, refractive correction, contact lenses, laser myopia surgery, as well as the treatment of low vision and vision care for patients with disabilities. He holds an M.D. from National Taiwan University, a master’s degree in clinical medicine from Chang Gung University, and a Ph.D. in public health from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. He is presently acting as the secretary general of Ophthalmologic Society of Taiwan; the president of Taiwan Association for Visual Rehabilitation, and the council member of Taiwan Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeon. Dr. Hou is actively involved in several government and research projects, particularly in the field of cataract; visual impairment prevention, and visual rehabilitation for people with special needs. He has published several studies on topics such as endophthalmitis, astigmatism, and the quality-of-life outcomes related to cataract surgery. Before joining NTUH, Dr. Hou gained extensive clinical experience as a resident and attending physician in the Department of Ophthalmology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, where he also served as a research fellow in the refraction division. His expertise in refraction; cataract; vison care for people with disabilities, and low vision made him a key figure in providing advanced medical care to patients.
