Dr. Fam is a distinguished leader in ophthalmology, celebrated for his expertise in cataract and refractive surgery. He was a pioneer in establishing the Cataract and Implant Service and served as the founding head of the Anterior Segment Service at the Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. His commitment to advancing patient outcomes is recognized globally through his membership in the prestigious International Intraocular Implant Club and the IOL Power Club, which focus on perfecting intraocular lens power calculation and technology. As an international educator, Dr. Fam is highly sought after. He has delivered over 600 presentations, including keynote addresses, at major global and regional conferences. He has also conducted more than 50 instructional courses and master classes, and served on over 70 expert panels across Asia, actively training the next generation of surgeons in advanced techniques. Dr. Fam has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Cataract & Refractive Surgery.
