Dr. Yung-Ray Hsu, MD, MS, is an ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis and vitreoretinal diseases. He currently serves as Section Chief of the Uveitis Service at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) in New Taipei City, and as an Assistant Professor at both (FEMH) and National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH).
Dr. Hsu completed his ophthalmology residency and dual fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis at NTUH, followed by an international fellowships in intraocular inflammation at the University of Tokyo, Kyorin University, and Tokyo Medical and Dental University.
Dr. Hsu established the Uveitis Service at FEMH in 2013, which has become a main uveitis referral center, and served over 1,600 patients in the past decade. He currently serves as Secretary General of the Taiwan Ocular Inflammation Society (TOIS) and is the member of the multicenter uveitis epidemiological survey in Taiwan. His clinical and research interests focus on retinal vasculitis, viral anterior uveitis, uveitis masquerade syndromes, and vitreoretinal surgery in uveitis.
Dr. Hsu has authored multiple publications in journals such as American Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, Graefeās Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, and Ocular Immunology and Inflammation. He is the recipient of multiple national and international awards, including three gold medals including thesis and surgical video competitions from the Taiwan Retina Society and the Asia-Pacific Vitreoretinal Society. Dr. Hsu is also a frequent invited speaker at domestic and global meetings such as the International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS).
