Prof.Xiulan Zhang China

Professor Xiulan Zhang, MD, PhD, is a distinguished ophthalmologist at Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, China. Recognized among the TOP 100 most influential ophthalmologists globally by the Ophthalmologist Power List (2014, 2023), and in the Asia-Pacific region (2023, 2025), she also ranked within the top 30 worldwide glaucoma experts according to Expertscape (2020-2024). Prof. Zhang actively contributes to leading ophthalmological societies, serving as vice president of the Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society (APOIS), board member of the Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Society (APGS) and International AI in Ophthalmology Society (IAIOph), and as convener for the Glaucoma Scientific Program at APAO (2018-2025). Her achievements include prestigious awards like the Outstanding Service in Prevention of Blindness (APAO, 2025), Senior Achievement Award (APAO, 2025), Molteno Lecture Award (APGS, 2024), Distinguished Service Award (APAO, 2021), and Achievement Award (APAO, 2017).
